Chantilly (VA) Westfield and NC State commitment Mike Glennon is doing a weekly diary for Pack Pride.com that will focus on his senior season. In Glennon's ninth entry he talks about his playoffs, Thanksgiving, and much more!
Monday, November 26 (6:05 P.M.)
Coach Willis called me today and he is up in my area for the week. He's going to come to my practice and then come back to my house after practice. So I'll have more on that in my next entry.
"We didn't really
need our passing game."
We won our game 58-34. I was 6-of-8 with 85 yards and a touchdown. We didn't really need our passing game as we ran for 522 yards. They had a very good offense but on the defensive side they were just too small for us.
There are a lot of Maryland fans in my area because Maryland is only about 45 minutes away so going into the game I was letting a lot of people know we were going to win... and they were sure to let me know of what the score was.
On a more positive note, going from 1-5 to 5-7 is real impressive. Hopefully we will continue to get better in the offseason and start the season a little better next year.
Monday, December 3 (8:30 P.M.)
It was a very good weekend for the Glennon family. I'm so proud of Sean. To get MVP of the ACC Championship Game after the adversity he's been through really makes me proud. I probably shouldn't have been listening, but I heard over the speakers at our game that Tech had won... still I didn't know how Sean played. I had no idea how he did until after the game when one of my coaches told me he was named MVP.
As for our game, it was probably the best high school game I have ever played in. In the first half our offense got off to a slow start. At halftime we were losing 7-3. To start the second half we had a big run from our running back, about 55 yards, to give us the lead 10-7. They got the ball back and drove to about the 20-yard line.
Todd Harrelson started
That was until Todd Harrelson started getting FILTHY. And when I say filthy, I mean he might have had the most impressive high school performance I have ever seen. Within the first two minutes of the 4th quarter, he had two touchdowns for about 150 yards. He finished the game with a state record 15 catches for 354 yards and three touchdowns. He had that performance while pressing our best reciver, so he was in the game nearly every play. I got his number after the game and texted him and told him he needs to add a state on to North Carolina.
But anyways, they were up 21-17 with about 10 minutes left in the 3rd. We got the ball and went three-and-out. We then got the ball back with about seven minutes left in the game. We were slowly marching down the field and then it was 4th-and-6 on the 15-yard line with about three minutes left. I threw a slant to my reciever and he got down to the 5-yard line. On 3rd-and-goal, I threw a 5-yard touchdown to give us the lead. On the kickoff, the Oscar Smith returner fumbled and we recovered. We ran the clock out and welcomed us to Charlottesville...
Friday, December 7 (9:10 A.M.)
Tomorrow is the big game. Scott Stadium, 12-8-07, the date we've been waiting for all year.
We play against Woodbridge at 4:30. Luckily, it's supposed to be a nice day after it snowed about three inches up here on Wednesday. It should be a real good game. They have a very good running back that is only a junior and a solid defense.
"It would be great to
see some NC State fans."
I don't know if any of you all live in the Charlottesville area but it would be great to see some NC State fans at UVA.
I talked with both Coach O'Brien and Coach Willis this week. Neither had much too much new to say. Coach O'Brien's brother lives about 15 minutes away from me so coach said his brother sends him all the newspaper articles on me. So he said he has been reading about me and wished me good luck this weekend.
I think I'm going to take my official the weekend of January 12. That is about all that I have to say. I hope to see some fans at the game tomorrow.
