Matt Brim's commitment to ECU is still holding, although schools continue to pursue the standout OL from Winston-Salem's Carver High. "I am still committed to ECU. I still have schools contacting me. Wake Forest, Duke and Ohio State. NC State still sends mail."
In an earlier interview with Scott Kennedy from BorderWars.com, Brim committed to the Pirates because of the coaching staff as well as other reasons; "I committed to ECU because I liked the coaching staff there. I like the surroundings, the atmosphere, and the environment."
ECU was the first school to offer Matt, however Wake Forest threw their name in the hat when they followed up ECU's offer with one of their own.
Brim camped at Wake Forest, North Carolina, ECU, and NC State this past summer, so he has had an up close view of all the Division 1 teams in the state.
Matt Brim is teammates with Isaiah "Puff" Thomas, who is also a NC State prospect. The pair of lineman have helped Winston-Salem's Carver to an 8-0 record. Carver is also ranked third in the state.
