NC State quarterback commitment Mike Glennon has been ranked the No. 1 recruit in the state of Virginia by The Roanoke Times. The 6-foot-6, 200-pounder out of Chantilly (VA) Westfield capped a dream season by leading the Bulldogs to a 15-0 mark and the Virginia AAA Division 6 Championship.
Glennon totaled 2,548 yards passing with 32 touchdowns and just eight interceptions. He completed over 70% of his passes, and he also rushed for another 130 yards and seven scores.
His great play caught the eye of talent evaluators and the state's media. Not only has Glennon been tabbed the No. 1 recruit in Virginia by The Roanoke Times, he was also named Gatorade State Player of the Year, AP State Player of the Year, and First-Team All-State.
He entered the season considered by everyone as a top five player in the state and his play solidified those opinions.
Glennon committed to NC State over the summer after considering offers from Virginia, Virginia Tech, Michigan, Purdue, Miami, and Florida State among others.
He is currently rated a four-star prospect and the No. 9 quarterback in the country by Scout.com.
Next up for Glennon is a week in Orlando, Florida for the inaugural 2008 Under Armour All-America Classic.
The game will be televised nationally January 5th at 2 p.m. EST on ABC. Players will arrive in Orlando, Florida on December 31st, and practices throughout the week will be aired live on ESPNU. There will also be a Skills Challenge on January 3rd at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex. That event will be aired January 4th on ESPN2.
