Mr Offense: Kenny Moore

TSW interviewed Matthews, NC RB/WR Kenny Moore, who is in the process of setting new standards for the Butler record books. His record setting career has been rewarded with four new offers.

We asked Kenny Moore how his season was going and we quickly learned he is churning up offensive yards in multiple ways. He has to date 2014 all purpose yards that include 859 yards on 49 carries (17.5 yards per carry). He has 564 yards on 30 receptions (18.8 yards per reception). He also has 591 yards on 23 returns (25.7 yards per return). He has scored 24 touchdowns for Butler High School in route to a 6-2 record.

Butler's 70-6 win over Grainger last Friday night saw Moore's stat line includes 5 TDs, 131 yards rushing, 71 receiving and 83 in punt returns. That's an amazing night of multi-purpose display resulting in 285 yards.

If Butler beats conference leader Waddell, they will share the conference title. "We are 4-1 in the conference and tied for second. We will play for the conference championship Friday night. If we win, we are guaranteed at least a tie for first."

Moore's versatility has his named scattered in the Butler record books as well. He already holds the Butler record for All-Purpose yards. Before the season ends, he should smash the records in scoring, rushing, total offense and receiving.

So where doe's Mr. Offense carry his game after all the Butler records are shattered? "Tennessee, Chapel Hill, NC State, Virginia and Florida are on my list. Duke, ECU, Elon and Wake Forest have offered. My coach says Virginia Tech has offered, but I have not talked to them about that, so I don't count them. It's pretty confusing right now, so I am just wide open" Moore told TSW.

He does take note of two offenses from the above list. "Wake Forest runs the same offense we run. I like the way NC State spreads the field and the ball around."

While he has not been on any official visits, he is in the process of lining up a trip to Wake. He has been to several games as well. "I have seen Tennessee/Middle Tennessee, Wake Forest/Virginia, NC State/Chapel Hill and NC State/Duke games."

Moore has scored over 800 on the SAT. "I have taken it (SAT) two times. I am going to take it again next month. I am qualified, but I want to get my scores up."
