Prospect Ranking: Rated a three-star prospect by Scout.com. Was regarded as a three-star prospect and the No. 32 defensive end in the country by Scout.com out of the Hun School. Other honors out of high school: Named to the first team Cape Atlantic league; first team All-Prep; rated one of the top 10 tight ends in the nation; rated one of the top 25 defensive ends in the nation.

Accomplishments: McKeen tallied 42 tackles, 17 tackles for a loss (led team), and four sacks (led team) during his sophomore season. He earned first-team All-NFC honors. At The Hun School, McKeen was a First Team All-League as a junior after recording seven touchdowns. He tallied eight sacks and scored three touchdowns as a senior.

Academics: McKeen is on track to receive his associate's degree and should enroll at NC State in June.

The Recruiting Scene: McKeen prepped at Princeton (NJ) The Hun School and originally committed to South Carolina after considering offers from North Carolina, Purdue, Michigan State, Missouri, and Miami among others. He spent a year at South Carolina before transferring to Nassau CC. After two stellar seasons at the junior college he was recruited by a host of schools, but the three programs that made the cut were West Virginia, NC State, and Virginia Tech. According to McKeen, all three had offered and he had visits scheduled prior to reaching his final decision to attend NC State. He is expected to play right away and has two years to play two seasons.
