Charlotte (N.C.) Olympic High School
Accomplishments: All-Observer offensive team pick by the Charlotte Observer as a right tackle as a senior; All-Queen City 3-A/4-A selection as a senior; all-conference selection as a junior as well.
The Recruiting Scene: A relative unknown early in the recruiting process for the Class of 2008, Wallace emerged with a solid Shrine Bowl combine in March. He then built on that showing by putting together a sterling performance at the Scout.com combine, punctuating his arrival on the scene with a head-turning 4.76-second time in the 40-yard dash.
The highly athletic big man was impressed by the class being compiled by NC State coach Tom O'Brien and elected to pull the trigger as a relatively early commitment for the Wolfpack in late August. He picked the Pack over offers from South Carolina, Tennessee, Miami, Illinois, Maryland, UNC, Marshall and Buffalo, becoming a key cog in State's well-regarded four-man offensive line recruiting haul.
Scouting Report: "Andrew Wallace seemed to come out of nowhere with an offer from Miami in early May and his recruitment simply took off from there. After posting an incredible 4.76 forty time at the Scout.com Combine many schools started to take a look at Wallace in person through camps and he did not dissappoint with several new offers.
"Watching his film, Wallace is a very fluid offensive tackle playing on the right side of the ball in high school, and I think he's a right tackle all the way. He plays with good leverage and has a nice step off the ball in pass protection and does not overextend himself." -- Scout.com Recruiting Analyst Miller Safrit
