Ankrah: 'I Really Like Their Defense'

Quince Orchard High School has a number of talented players, but one that hasn't been getting much press until now is defensive lineman Jason Ankrah. He has already nailed down his first three written scholarship offers and spoke with us recently about each school that has done so.

Jason Ankrah, a 6-foot-4, 240-pound defensive end from Gaithersburg, Md., has already been offered by Maryland, North Carolina State and West Virginia and is also in touch with coaches from Syracuse, Rutgers and Delaware.

While the mail may not be pouring in for him, three offers is certainly a good way to start your recruiting cycle.

"I have been to Maryland a few times and have a great relationship with Coach Dave Sollazzo," Ankrah explained. "He's a really funny guy and we just get along well. I went down and saw them practice this year and really like how they do things there. I also like their basketball team and facilities a lot and plan to go to junior day there this weekend."

"West Virginia got my film and immediately offered," Ankrah said. "I haven't talked to them much yet, but people tell me that it's a fun place to go to school and that the atmosphere there is great. They are a fun team to watch because they're so fast and aggressive and I really want to take a visit to Morgantown."

"One of my cousins went to North Carolina State and told me there is a ton of stuff to do down there. I really like their defense and loved watching Mario Williams play there because he was definitely something special. I just like them a lot from what I've read and heard so far."

Ankrah made first team All-Sentinel on the offensive line as a junior.
