Lowe: Wake will be 'jacked up'

RALEIGH, N.C. -- NC State head coach Sidney Lowe met with the media today to discuss the game against Wake Forest.

Sidney Lowe

On practice this week
"I could see in the guys eyes that they realized that they played a pretty good ballgame [against Duke]. They showed again that they are capable of doing that and they came to practice with that edge, with that attitude that we have to keep this going. There was definitely some carry over."

On Javi Gonzalez against Duke
"It was a huge step, not just as a team but for some of our individual players. For Javi to play as well as he did against a team like that, with the pressure and the atmosphere and all that as a freshman was remarkable. I think he grew a great deal."

On Trevor Ferguson
"He's been in the gym. He's never wavered, he's never stopped. He's actually been in the gym more over the last month than before. He's in there before practice shooting, he's there after practice shooting. I'm happy for him that's its paying off."

On Wake Forest
"They have been playing well and they had put themselves in a position at one point to make the [NCAA] Tournament. Obviously its still there, they have this game then the ACC Tournament. They are gonna be jacked up and we have to be ready to play in that environment. We have to be smart in controlling the tempo of the game but we also have to play with that aggressiveness that we are capable of playing with. We have to go in and try to establish ourselves early and not let them get going."
