NC State holds lead for Bailes

TSW interviews Jonathan Bailes (6'1" 315) to see how his recruitment is progressing and learned that FSU and San Diego State are turning up the heat on the Tampa defensive lineman.

Jonathan Bailes still list NC State as his favorite, but other schools are beginning to turn up the heat on the Tampa, Florida defensive tackle. "I am visiting San Diego State December 13th and Florida State has picked it up also. NC State still leads and I plan on going to Raleigh to see them play Florida State."

The NC State lead has held despite the lack of an official offer. "State has not offered yet, and you know how that goes." In our last interview with Jonathan, he told TSW the offer was currently an understanding; "I have a good understanding with the coaches. They know I want to go there and they tell me they want me there. So right now, I don't have anything in writing, but I do have an understanding."

We asked Bailes what it was about the Wolfpack that has held his attention for so long. "They are an up and coming program. They are putting the pieces together to win a national championship and I want to jump into a program like that and be a part of building a dynasty."

Jonathan also talked to TSW about the upgrades to Carter-Finley that are currently taking place. "They have great facilities. Their locker and weight rooms are going to be great."

The Florida lineman watched Georgia Tech hand NC State their first loss of the season this past Saturday. "I watched the game on TV. State should of won. They still can accomplish a lot, even with the loss."

Jefferson Senior has run their record to 8-1 and a Florida ranking of 6th in 4-A. They currently find themselves 2nd in the conference but have locked up a play-off spot. "We have had two prospects go down for the season. "Rashad Green has a broken ankle and Donnie Woods tore an ACL. We have pulled it together since and hopefully will do well in the play-offs."

Bailes is scheduled to take the SAT December 7th.
