Stephen Tulloch is in the midst of a football run. His team, Miami Killian is undefeated at 10-0 and about to enter the state playoffs with a #2 ranking in Florida's tough 6-A division. He also has been selected to play in Pasadena for the Florida All-Stars in CaliFlorida Bowl IV on January 4th. He is also a nominee for the Army All-Star game.
The success is not left on the field. He is about to travel the nation in search for his perfect school. His short list is impressive. "I am going to Pitt on Nov. 22nd, North Carolina on Nov. 30th, NC State on December 6th, Rutgers on December 13th and will go up to Florida on January 17th. I also like Boston College, Miami and Ohio State."
We asked Stephen to describe what he liked about some of the schools. "The thing about Rutgers is they are young but they have a good coaching staff. They are up and coming and will be very good in a couple of years. Florida is rebuilding and I am not sure the coaching staff will be there in the next couple of years. I like Ohio State too. I want to try to go see them as well."
He likes the Wolfpack as well. "I like NC State a lot. Doc Holiday and Coach Amato are recruiting me. My brother David played defensive end for Coach Amato at FSU and he says he is a great man. He thinks they have a top program and he wants me to go there."
He also has some contacts in Raleigh. "I have a couple friends up there now. I talk to Andre Maddox and Pat Thomas some. Pat called me the other night and told me that he was a bit beat up. State has played more games than everybody else trying to get their rankings up. I believe they are wore down some. They have some injuries."
While the final statistics are not in, Stephen has racked up some impressive numbers. "I have two interceptions, one for a touchdown. I also have forced three fumbles. I ran one back for a touchdown. Right now I have 126 tackles. The final stats are suppose to be out later this week."
Tulloch is close to qualifying. "My grades are good. I am scheduled to take the SAT January 25th. I am just a few points from getting the score. It should not be a problem."
Indeed, his schedule is full and will take him coast to coast. A possible deep run in the play-offs, testing, All-Stars and official visits has his agenda full. With the exception of Christmas break, he has something planned for every weekend before signing date including a decision. "After my Florida visit, I will announce."
