Name: Ryan Kelly
Hometown: Raleigh, North Carolina
High School: Ravenscroft
Notes: Tabbed Conference Player of the Year, Kelly led Ravenscroft to a 24-6 record by averaging 24 points and ten rebounds a game.
On the recruiting front, he's considering offers from North Carolina, Stanford, NC State, Virginia, Georgetown Vanderbilt, Notre Dame, Michigan, and Davidson among others.
North Carolina was the latest school to offer Kelly a scholarship.
"It was and it's neat [to play here] but I just look at it as a great option," Kelly said of the UNC offer. "I have lots of great options that I'm going through just trying to find the best one."
Academics will ultimately factor into Kelly's decision.
"Academics are important for me, but at the same time I know you can get a good education wherever you go if you put in the work, and my parents preach that to me," he stated. "I don't think distance is a factor for me right now, I'm just going to try and find the best fit first and the one thing is you want your parents to come, and they're going to make it to as many games as they can no matter what."
According to Scout.com, Kelly is currently the No. 9 power forward and the No. 29 player overall in the 2009 class.
