Name: Everett Proctor
Hometown: Fayetteville, North Carolina
High School: Jack Britt High School
Notes: After attending NC State's camp, Fayetteville (NC) Jack Britt's Everett Proctor emerged with an offer from NC State to play quarterback, and yesterday he accepted the offer. He had already held an offer from NC State, but it was as an athlete.
South Carolina, East Carolina, and Maryland have offered as an athlete while NC State, Georgia Tech, and Illinois have extended offers to play quarterback.
At 6-2 and 200 pounds, Proctor boasts 4.49-second speed in the 40-yard dash. As a junior playing quarterback, he rushed for 1,1105 yards and 13 touchdowns and added 754 yards and an additional five scores through the air. However, coach Bailey has noticed considerable improvement from his star player.
Coach Quote: "He's improved tremendously since last year. His workout at NC State was as good as I've seen him throwing the ball. At all of these camps, he's proven that he can throw as well as any of the other quarterbacks, and he can obviously run it.
"Last year we didn't throw it as much, but with his improvement we're going to now throw it a lot more. In a passing offense, he could be a 3,000-yard passing guy. That's how well I think he can pass it." -- Jack Britt Head Coach Richard Bailey
Scouting Report: "The first thing I notice about Proctor is his demeanor. He carries himself like someone who knows what it's like to lead. He is extremely athletic and just has a toughness about him, both physical and mental.
"He plays like a free safety. He sticks his nose in there and is not afraid of contact. The biggest thing is that he brings such complementary talents to the position. He is a true dual-threat quarterback who can go the distance, and he has a solid enough arm to be a balanced threat. It will be interesting to see how Coach O'Brien uses him." -- Scout.com Recruiting Analyst Burke Hayes
