NC State offered me yesterday morning," said Adams. "It was coach Lowe who I was talking to on the phone. He was talking to me and was in the room with coach Harris and coach Towe. He offered me right there on the spot.
"I was excited to get another offer and have that option. I was very excited. My parents were happy about it. State is about 20 minutes from my house and if I went there they know they could go to almost all my games."
Adams now has offers from Miami, NC State, Virginia Tech, South Carolina, and Wake Forest.
"I don't have any favorites right now, but I would say I have a top five," he said. "Those would be Miami, South Carolina, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, and NC State.
"The biggest factor now is when I take my visits and meet up with the coaches. I want to see how they are and how I get along with the players. It will be a lot of things, but mostly I'm going to go where I feel the most comfortable."
"My goal is to make a decision before my basketball season starts," added Adams. "I really want to take some visits and see how everything goes. There is no set timeframe for me."
Last season, Adams led Middle Creek to a 27-3 record and a deep run in the state 4A basketball tournament. Adams made his mark on the AAU circuit as the go-to player for Garner Road Elite.
"For a guy who began the summer with mid-level attention, it's been quite a run," Scout.com's Dave Telep recently wrote on Adams. "What the big boys appreciate is his size and stroke. He can move left or right and knock down a shot. In the morning he had big numbers (22 vs. Memphis YOMCA) and finally ran out of bullets later in the day."
