Indianapolis (In.) Cathedral offensive tackle Kyle Koehne has plenty of offers to choose from and one of those is from NC State. The 6-6, 300 pound lineman looks like a college-ready prospect, but is he getting closer to a decision on where he will spend his college years?
PackPride.com caught up with Koehne recently and discussed the recruiting process, including what to expect in the coming weeks.
"I think I'm going to take a couple of official visits and then decide after those," Koehne explained. "I'll probably go to at least a couple of games.
"I've just scheduled one for Boston College so far. I think I might go to Louisville, then probably Florida and Michigan. I'll be at Boston College for their game against Georgia Tech.
"Louisville is just starting to show a little more interest now but they offered a while back.
Michigan has only recently started to show interest in Koehne. They, like Florida, have yet to offer, but eight other schools have extended written offers. One of those schools is NC State. Is the Wolfpack a serious player for Koehne?
"They offered me a while ago," he said. "I don't really remember when. They've been sending me letters all the time. I've emailed them, too, so we've stayed in contact.
"I might want to visit them. I haven't really decided yet. I've heard it's a beautiful school and the coaches are really good, coming from Boston College of course.
"Our school has a couple of alumni that played for the coaches -- Mathias Kiwanuka and Jeremy Trueblood. I’ve actually had a chance to talk to Trueblood a couple of times. It's pretty cool because they're both pros."
Koehne is rated a three-star prospect and the No. 37 offensive tackle in the nation by Scout.com
