On if he called his parents after learning of the decision
"Yeah I called my parents. They were definitely excited. My mom was praying for me, stuff like that, same with my dad."

On his reaction
"I was definitely smiling inside. But you know Daniel is a great quarterback as well so we are ready to go."

On how he reacts to those who say he's too small for a quarterback
"I don't really worry about other people. I know my talents – I know what I can do and what I can't do. I just listen to coach and do what they tell me."

On how baseball prepared him for Thursday's game
"Playing here at NC State and playing at big places like Clemson, Florida State and obviously Georgia – that was a great experience for me playing on national TV. That helps me settle down, stuff like that. But I've been waiting for this my whole life."

On how he felt in the last scrimmage
"I was definitely comfortable. Each day, each practice I've been getting more and more comfortable and just been trying to understand the offense."

On if he ever wanted to play anything besides quarterback
"Ever since I was little I always threw to my brother. My dad used to play wide receiver for the Chargers so I used to always throw to him at night. Definitely when it comes to football that's the position I wanted to play."
