Offensive tackle Kadeem Custis has held six scholarships for a while now, so he has a pretty good idea of which schools have him high on their recruiting boards. He's already set up one official visit and has four more in the works.
The 6-5, 270 pound lineman from Philadelphia (Pa.) St. John Neumann has received scholarships from Duke, East Carolina, NC State, Pittsburgh, Temple and West Virginia.
"Our season has been going good. We got a win last week and we're in the playoffs, so we'll just have to see what happens from here," he said. "I've been playing at a high level. I've been forced to in order to get us into the playoffs. I feel good about how things are going.
"I've set up an official visit with Temple for December 12. I'm going to set up visits to West Virginia, Pitt, Connecticut and NC State, too."
NC State has certainly done their part in making Custis feel like a wanted man with the attention they have shown him throughout the recruiting process. With the potential to play on either side of the line, he appears to have emerged as a major target for the Wolfpack coaching staff.
"I've been talking a lot with Coach Reid (Wolfpack defensive back’s coach Mike Reid) from State," he explained. "He's just been telling me to keep up the hard work with my team around here. They've been wanting to get me out there for a game.
"I really like them a lot. Their facilities are great and I love the team and family concept. The coaches are just great, too."
Custis stated that an early decision is not likely as he continues to evaluate the colleges on his list. He said he plans on making an announcement after he takes all five of his official visits. Custis has previously listed West Virginia as the leader for his commitment.
