Thomas Looking to Set Visits

Pack Pride catches up with Marlboro County (SC) wide receiver Kinsman Thomas and has the latest on his recruiting and plans for future visits.

Three-star wide receiver Kinsman Thomas has received five offers due in large part to a breakout senior season. For the last few months he has displayed a wide array of talents and has seen his stock rise significantly.

The 6-2, 194 pound prospect has 32 catches for 667 yards and 11 touchdowns so far in his senior season. He has done a good job of finding ways to get open despite receiving a lot of attention from opposing defenses and is a big reason Bennettsville (S.C.) Marlboro County is sitting pretty at 6-3 with a spot in the playoffs already clinched.

While Thomas isn't certain where or when he will be taking all of his official visits, he knows of a few he would like to take.

"I don't know about visits yet, but I think my dad might have set one up with Illinois for sometime in November," Thomas said. "I wouldn't mind visiting LSU, NC State and UNC, too. I don't have any favorites right now to tell you the truth. I'm looking at a lot of schools."

Thomas holds offers from NC State, South Carolina, Illinois, Vanderbilt and Buffalo, and he has received a lot of interest from others who will undoubtedly be taking a hard look at him as the recruiting process drags on and other prospects make their decisions.

He knows what he will be looking for in a school and the Pack has been high on his list for months. Thomas had a chance to visit NC State a few weeks ago for the Wolfpack’s tough loss to Boston College. Since then, he’s stayed in touch with State’s coaches.

"I talk to Coach Jim Bridge a lot from NC State," he said. "He's just saying that he's seen my highlight tape and he's ready for me to get up there.

"When it comes to my decision I'm going to look at climate a lot. I'll see how cold or hot it is around each school. I'll check out the atmosphere around the school and the coaches."

Thomas is rated a three-star prospect and the No. 69 wide receiver in the nation by
