LeRue Rumph makes choice

While he still has some visits left on his schedule, WR/SS LeRue Rumph announced today he expects to commit to NC State.

Clearwater (Fla.) Central Catholic standout wide receiver/strong safety LeRue Rumph has decided to make a commitment. "I'm a soft commitment to N.C. State," he said. "Basically, it came down to my position coach. He's real cool and I think I have a chance to play strong safety early on there. It's a soft commitment because I'm still going to take visits to Georgia (Jan. 24) and South Florida (Jan. 17) to see what they're about."

Rumph, who recently had surgery to remove a steel rod that had been in his leg all season, finished the season with 70 tackles and six interceptions.

"N.C. State's a great place," he said. "They're on the way up. We haven't set my visit date, but it'll probably be January 10th."
