Pack Moving Up Thompson's List

Pack Pride talks with one of next year's top quarterbacks about his interest in NC State.

Quarterback Dylan Thompson is only a junior but many already consider him to be one of the Palmetto State's top signal callers in his class. The 6-4, 200 pound pocket-passer has immersed himself in the recruiting process and is taking a hard look at several ACC schools.

Thompson has received interest from a lot of programs in recent months but is still waiting for that first offer to come in. He isn't worried, though, and he isn't about to speculate as to who it might come from.

Through seven games for Boiling Springs he had completed 67-of-101 passes for 1,1101 yards with 13 touchdowns and four interceptions. He has also rushed for 376 yards and four scores.

"I would say I'm best suited for a pro-style offense like we run in high school," Thompson said. "I would like to get my 4.7 (40 time) down to a 4.6. Playing time isn't going to be much of a factor, to be honest. I would really like to redshirt unless I'm needed badly."

Thompson visited Duke, NC State (November 15), Virginia (November 22) and Clemson (November 29) this fall. What does he think of the Wolfpack?

"NC State has moved up my list. I've been talking to them lately and their coaches are just great, man. They're just great people," he said.

Pack Pride will have more from Thompson in the near future so stay tuned!
