"[Mays] didn't play the last game but he came out ready to play today. That's the kind of young man he is – he just wants to take advantage of that opportunity and it presented itself today and he was solid."

"I just wanted [Fells] to get some action in a game setting to get ready for Monday's ball game. We didn't want him to be just cold turkey coming into that game."

"The cut was so deep it was down to the bone so they had to clean it out a little bit. That irritated it a little so now its swollen. [Gonzalez] was trying to move it around a little bit today but we aren't sure if he's going to practice tomorrow or play on Monday."

"[Marquette] has excellent guards with experience. They are going to push it at us with great speed and quickness and toughness. We need to be ready to play, we're going to have to get back in transition and not give them anything easy."

"Hopefully that's going to be a special day for [the 1974 team]. I'm a firm believer in taking care of the former players here and the Wolfpack family and I wanted to do something special for these guys. NCAA rules wouldn't allow me to do what I wanted to do but we certainly want to acknowledge them and let them know – I wanted them to know what I think about them and how I appreciate what they've done for this university and how special they are."

"How would the '83 team have done against them? We probably would have beat them by two on a last-second shot."
