"Once again, it's a great day for Wolfpack football. We welcome what we think is an excellent class, one that this coaching staff is really looking forward to coaching."

"As I said a couple of years ago, we don't care what they came in as, but they better leave as five-star players."

"If we like a guy, we like a guy, I don't care if [others] him or not."

"No matter whether it's in this state or anywhere else, there are guys that you're not going to get. What it comes down to it I think there were two kids in the state who visited us that we ended up not getting. It is what it is and we'll move on from there."

"You can't worry about the guys you don't get, you worry about the guys you get because those are the ones who are going to help you win."

"That's why he was signed. Hopefully he can come in here and do the job better than we've had done in the past."

"We saw him in the summer. What he is, he's bigger, maybe faster, and a stronger arm than Russell Wilson. He's a raw athlete that we see a tremendous amount of potential in."

"We like those kids that are self-starters, relentless and like to play the game. A lot of that has to do with their character."

"We're not going to sign a guy just to sign a guy. He has to fit our system, work for us, and fit our profile as a player and a student-athlete."

"Most of these guys are two-way players. A lot of them have played multiple positions which gives us a lot of flexibility and speaks to their athleticism."

"There are a lot of guys on this list that we said at the start this is our #1 guy at this spot... as I said before, these coaches are excited about these kids."

"There are a lot of guys in this class that we targeted from the start and we thought would be a great fit for our program."

"We tried to sign a football team."

NOTE: It isn't referenced in this audio segment, but coach O'Brien also stated that two players, Darrell Davis (shoulder) and Donald Bowens (knee), are undergoing surgery. He hopes to have Davis back by spring practice, but no timetable was given on Bowens.

According to O'Brien wideout Geron James will also transfer to another school and is no longer with the team.

Also, two players with a year of eligibility remaining, quarterback Harrison Beck and defensive lineman Jamain Clemmons, will graduate and not play in 2009.
