How many may the Pack target for the class of 2010: 2

POSITION BREAKDOWN (NOTE: The information here is solely the opinion of Pack Pride and should be considered for discussion purposes only.)

    Raynard Randolph

STRENGTHS: Randolph plays with tremendous leverage and gets a strong push from his lower body. He moves well in a small area, is capable of eating up space on the interior, plays hard, and has the ability to collapse the pocket.

WEAKNESSES: Randolph needs to improve flexibility, add quickness, and continue to develop physically.

    ACADEMICS: Unknown

IMPACT IN 2009? Randolph has a chance to contribute in 2009 but redshirting would probably be ideal.

    Deion Roberson

STRENGTHS: Roberson has quick feet and an impressive burst at the snap. He can dominate at the point of attack, has a lot of upside physically, and provides a strong straight-ahead rush.

WEAKNESSES: missed senior season so will need time to get back in game shape, can he return completely from ankle injury, need to work on technique and become alla-round defensive lineman

    ACADEMICS: Unknown

    IMPACT IN 2009? Likely Redshirt

    Brian Slay

STRENGTHS: Slay is a relentless player with a tremendous motor. He runs well laterally, has good feet and quickness to beat offensive linemen, and he stood out on a high school defense loaded with talent. An instinctive player, he also does a good job of using his hands.

WEAKNESSES: Slay doesn't have prototypical size, and he will need to get stronger and improve his agility. He simply needs time to adjust to D-1 level.

ACADEMICS: Slay projects as a qualifier

    IMPACT IN 2009? Likely Redshirt

    Nathan Mageo

STRENGTHS: Mageo runs extremely well and shows the ability to make plays all over the field. A high-intensity, high motor player that goes all out, and he does a good job of clogging the middle.

WEAKNESSES: Mageo needs to improve strength and technique.

    ACADEMICS: Enrolled

IMPACT IN 2009? Because of NC State's depth issues at defensive tackle, Mageo is expected to see playing time this year.
