"Recruiting is going good," said Davis. "I already have official offers from Wake Forest, Vanderbilt, and NC State. It feels good to know that those schools really want me.
"I've been talking a lot to South Carolina, Tennessee, and Alabama too."
Davis has already visited one program and plans on checking out several other schools in the near future.
"I've been to Wake Forest," he said. "Wake Forest is a good school. The coaches are down-to-earth, and they like to hang around with their players. I liked it there.
"I'm going to South Carolina this weekend. I'm going to Clemson on March 7th, and I plan on visiting Tennessee, Alabama, NC State, Vanderbilt, and Maryland too."
Chester advanced to the state title game, only to come up short in their quest for a title. "I feel like we had a good year," said Davis. "It was another step in the right direction, but we're coming up short if we don't have a ring. I feel like I started my career out pretty good and now I'm settling in and finding where I belong."
Checking in at 6-foot-5 and 320 pounds, Davis played left tackle for Chester during his junior campaign. Where will he play in college?
"Some schools are telling me tackle and others say guard," he said. "It doesn't really matter as long as I can play."
NC State was obviously impressed with his highlight tape since the Wolfpack have extended a written offer. Davis doesn't know much about NC State but hopes to learn more.
"Honestly, I hadn't been hearing much from NC State," he said. "They just sent me the letter from them after watching my film. I want to get up and visit them so I can find out what they are about."
Does he have a leader?
"I wouldn't say I have a leader," said Davis. "I'm trying to get offers from Alabama and South Carolina, but I don't really have a favorite."
With a 3.5+ GPA, Davis is also a standout in the classroom who projects as a full qualifier.
