Hill didn't play as a sophomore, missing the entire season with a wrist injury, but he dominated in 2008. Playing linebacker and defensive end, he totaled 115 tackles, 10 sacks, and four blocked punts for the Trojans.
"I ended up making first-team all-conference so I think I played well," said Hill. "I didn't play the year before, but I came out and had 15 tackles in our first game and I know that was good. I felt good out there the whole time.
"I played a lot of linebacker and defensive end... I really like rushing the passer and blocking kicks."
Checking in at 6-foot-4 and 245 pounds, Hill has been timed as low as 4.59 in the 40-yard dash. He's a double-digit scorer for the West Brunswick basketball team and is athletic enough to run the sprints for his school's track squad.
Although he hasn't picked up any official offers, Hill believes that once colleges have a better feel for his academic situation the offers will start to flow in.
"That's what my coach is telling me," he said. "I don't have any offers but after this semester I should start getting some in. My coach said that I'll get offers if I finish out this session strong in the classroom. He told me that the Duke coaches said they were going to [offer] and ECU will too.
"I've been receiving letters and talking to Wake Forest, [NC] State, Duke, ECU, UCLA, Michigan and some other colleges."
Hill recently visited two ACC programs and is slated to attend another Junior Day this weekend. Currently one of those teams has the early lead in his recruitment.
"I went to visit Duke and Wake Forest," he said. "I'm going to [NC] State on Sunday. I hope it goes pretty good.
"I liked it at Duke and Wake Forest. Duke right now would be my favorite. I talk to them more than anybody else... probably Duke and ECU."
NC State recruiting coordinator Jerry Petercuskie is recruiting Hill for the Wolfpack. Hill hopes to learn more about NC State this weekend.
"I wouldn't say I'm a fan of any certain school, but my uncle is a big State fan so I've liked them," said Hill. "I've always liked their defensive ends. I went with him up to State for a game a couple of years ago, but I didn't get to talk to the coaches. I'll talk to them on Sunday though.
"Coach Jerry Petercuskie is a cool guy. He's telling me that if I finish my year strong I could get an offer because he likes guys from around my area."
Although Hill is in no rush to make a commitment it appears that distance might be a factor in his decision.
"I'm not sure when I would pick a school," he said. "I would probably like to do it after the season.
"I want to stay close to home though... I don't want to go too far away from my family."
