2009 Spring Organizational Chart

RALEIGH, N.C. -- With spring practice set to begin on Friday, NC State has released its latest organizational chart.

  • Senior Julian Williams is now listed as the starting left guard. Williams has spent all of his career at left tackle but that position is now being manned by junior Jake Vermiglio.

  • Freshman Sam Jones is the backup at left tackle.

  • Senior Andy Barbee is listed as the starter at right guard. Barbee has played mainly center since arriving at NC State.

  • Redshirt freshmen Andrew Wallace, Zach Allen, and R.J. Mattes have made the two-deep at left guard, right guard, and right tackle respectively.

  • Redshirt sophomore Wayne Crawford played last season at defensive tackle but he will have a chance to earn playing time at center this fall as he has been moved to the offensive line.

  • Toney Baker is listed as the starter at tailback after missing the past two seasons.

  • Jeff Ruiz is listed as the starter at punter.

  • Redshirt sophomore J.R. Sweezy has been moved from defensive end to defensive tackle and is now on the two-deep as a reserve. Also a reserve is junior college transfer Nathan Mageo.

  • Dwayne Maddox has been moved to strongside linebacker and he will compete with redshirt freshman Terrell Manning for the starting job.

  • Redshirt sophomore Jimmaul Simmons is listed as the starter at free safety.

  • Coach O'Brien stated this will be a young team for NC State. The Wolfpack is expected to have a full roster of 85 players, but they will have just 14 seniors and 16 juniors. 55 scholarship players on the roster are expected to be freshmen and sophomores.
