Greensboro (NC) Page defensive end Gabe King has two schools on the top of his list and they're just about as far apart as they could possibly be.
While those two schools appear to be the ones to beat at this point, the 6-5, 230 pound four-star lineman isn't closing the door on anyone just yet.
"Right now I have a 1a and a 1b," he explained. "After that, pretty much everything's open. First is UNC and Cal, and then everybody else.
"What I like about them is the position coaches they've got recruiting me. I've got good relationships with them. That's the man I'm going to be spending most of my time with during my college career. That's what has them out in front of everybody else."
Where does the Wolfpack fit into the equation?
"NC State ... I would like to get to know my coach a little bit better. That would be coach Willis. They're up there, though. I haven't talked to (Willis) in a while. I probably haven't talked to him since the last time I was there for a junior day. I think it was the last junior day they had up there.
"It went wonderful while I was there. It was good meeting everybody. They've got a good group of guys there. I had been there previously so I just liked experiencing everything again."
King has said location will not be a factor in his decision and he reiterated that to Pack Pride.
He's torn on when he would like to make his decision.
"I've been advised by some people who have gone through the process that I should commit before my senior season, but I want to go on some official visits. I want to really get down deep with the players and coaches, so I don't know right now."
King is rated a four-star prospect and the No. 8 defensive end in the nation by Scout.com.
