"Recruiting is going good," said Jackson. "Some of the most recent colleges to come to my school have been Toledo, Illinois, Alabama, and Tennessee State.
"I've already got offers from Ole Miss, Kentucky, East Carolina, and NC State. I think Tennessee is close to offering me... they are talking about it. I'm also hearing from Notre Dame, Auburn, Georgia Tech, Georgia, and Florida.. I've visited all of them along with Ole Miss and Tennessee."
Jackson had a monster junior season. A two-way standout for North Clayton High, he rushed for 1,800 yards and 32 touchdowns as a tailback. For his efforts he was named the Clayton County Player of the Year and earning Honorable Mention All-State honors. Defensively, he totaled 15 sacks from his outside linebacker position.
While he has a preference on where he plays, Jackson admits that schools are recruiting him to play on both side of the football.
"I'm a running back," he stated. "That's what I want to play. The colleges say they can see me as a linebacker but after they see the tape they want me as a running back.
"I have some recruiting me to play linebacker... Ole Miss, NC State, and Kentucky like me at running back."
With offers on the table, Jackson plans on hitting the road for camps and unofficial visits over the next couple of months.
"I plan on visiting Ole Miss, Auburn, Tennessee, Georgia Tech, East Carolina, and NC State for either camp or visits," he said. "Those are some of the visits I know for now."
NC State was one of the recent schools to extend a scholarship offer.
"I don't know too much about them yet," said Jackson. "I'm going to take a visit up there and learn more about them. Coach Reed is recruiting me for NC State... I like him. He says they like the way I run with the ball, and I can run the ball for them."
As of now a SEC program holds the early advantage.
"I believe my top five would be Ole Miss, Auburn, Kentucky, NC State, and probably Georgia Tech," said Jackson. "Ole Miss... I'm kind of leaning that way. They are together down there. They are a real family and everything.
"I don't know when I'm going to make a decision. I haven't thought about that yet."
