Pack Pride has given you regular updates regarding the recruitment of Raleigh (NC) Southeast linebacker Kendall Moore. Here's another, detailing where the 6-3, 225-pound prospect stands on everything.
Moore holds offers from just about every school in the mid-Atlantic region by this point, and several schools from the SEC have hinted that they might be close to extending scholarships as well.
Despite all the interest from other schools, those programs from Tobacco Road are guaranteed a close look by Moore as he tries to narrow his list in the coming weeks. NC State falls into that category, as one of the schools he thinks very highly of and feels close to.
"State's been good the whole time," Moore said recently. "They brought five or six coaches to my school. All of them came together and talked to my coach. It went well, actually. It was nice seeing them.
"I mean, I tell a lot of people they're the first school that offered me. I always keep that in mind."
Don't expect Moore to obsess about visiting State in the near future. He knows plenty about what the school has to offer.
"I've been up there a whole bunch of times," he said. "I don't know if I'm gonna go again. I might go up for one more visit, but I don't really know. I haven't really decided on my summer trips yet."
Moore said recently he has been in touch with LSU and another SEC school that has caught his eye.
"I've been talking a lot more with Auburn," he said. "Coach Thigpen came from Carolina, and he was my recruiting coach there. He went to Auburn and came up to my school just to let me know he's still interested. He wants me to come down and check them out.
"They're talking about (offering) right now. We're talking a lot about it. They just want me to come and check it out. He got my tape while he was down there. He said he would get back with me."
Moore plans on narrowing his list before too long. Will the Pack make the cut?
"Right now I'm looking at narrowing it down probably to about seven schools towards the end of this month, or maybe the beginning of next month. We're about to get out of school on Tuesday. We'll be out soon. I'm going to sit down with my parents and family before we narrow it down.
"After I get it to seven schools we'll probably just go from there. I want to make my decision before the season. I'll still probably take all five of my visits just to keep my options open.
"A lot can change between now and the end of the month but as of now I'm pretty high on State. Because they're one of the first schools to show interest in me and they're so close, I really like them. I know a lot about the school so they're definitely high up there."
Moore had the opportunity to talk to Rob Crisp, the high profile offensive lineman from Chapel Hill that committed to the Pack earlier this year.
"I talked to him while I was at the spring game. I talked to him and his dad, and Pete Singer. They were just telling me about how Rob made his decision and how he took his time. It was pretty nice, just hearing from him and what he thought."
