Name: Roscoe Smith
Hometown: Baltimore, Maryland
High School: Walbrook
Position: Small Forward
Although he's not a familiar face on the AAU circuit, Roscoe Smith was in the triangle this past weekend lacing them up for the Baltimore Stars at the 2009 Tournament of Champions.
Rated a five-star prospect and the No. 3 small forward in the country by Scout.com, Smith is a hot commodity and it's easy to see why.
He hit up the Atlanta Celtics for 28 points in the tourney opener, as he knocked down 3-pointers, hit mid-range jumpers and attacked the basket. He also competed defensively and tried to lead his team.
On the recruiting front, he stated that he is wide open with a long list, but did point out that the triangle schools are in the mix.
"Right now I'm open for all schools," Smith told Ben Sherman of Inside Carolina. "My list is open. I haven't made my decision yet. I haven't narrowed anything down. All the top NCAA [teams] that you can think of are very interested in me and they have offered.
"University of North Carolina, North Carolina State, Duke... they are the only three schools in North Carolina that are recruiting me. Other than that, everybody else."
Pack Pride will have more from Smith in the near future, but here are highlights of the talented wing forward in action at the 2009 Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions.
