Hometown: Fort Lauderdale, Florida
High School: St. Thomas Aquinas High School
Notes: St. Thomas Aquinas is one of the top football programs in America, and the Raiders finished 2008 as the consensus No. 1 team in the nation after winning another Florida Class 5A state title.
A major factor in the team's success was the versatility and production of tailback James White.
Splitting carries in a loaded backfield that rushed for nearly 4,000 yards, White totaled 933 yards (7.3 ypc) and 18 touchdowns during his junior campaign. He added another 184 yards receiving and three scores on 17 receptions, third-best on the team.
The 5-foot-11, 190-pounder holds double-digit scholarship offers and is rated a three-star prospect and the No. 41 tailback in the country by Scout.com.
With offers on the table from Boston College, Clemson, Iowa, Michigan State, Minnesota, Rutgers, Wisconsin, and NC State among others, he certainly has options. White and his family are visiting nearly all of the programs during June to get more familiar with the schools.
White has already visited Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan State, Florida, Boston College, Syracuse, Rutgers and Connecticut, and this weekend he's expected to visit Wake Forest, NC State, UNC, Duke, and Virginia.
Don't expect an early decision from White, as he plans on taking official visits this fall.
Here's your chance to catch the talented prospect in action!
