Ohio OL Discusses Summer Plans

Pack Pride recently caught up with Carey (OH) offensive tackle Michael Dennis and he gives us the latest on where he stands on his recruitment.

Pack Pride recently caught up with Carey, Ohio offensive tackle Michael Dennis to get a feel for where he stands on things these days. Is the Pack still in the picture?

At 6-7 and about 260 pounds, Dennis has a lot of potential at the next level. He has the kind of frame that will allow him to carry a lot more weight than he currently does, and his wingspan is ideal for a tackle.

What has he been up to lately?

"I've just been going to camps and trying to visit more of the schools that I have interest in," Dennis said. "Two of the most recent camps I went to were at Indiana and Michigan State.

"Indiana went pretty well. First we went there just to camp for about two hours or so. Then we went to the campus and came back for an unofficial visit. It was a pretty good time.

"Michigan State was more of a camp. I just got a little tour of the campus and facilities and then talked to the coaches while we were camping. I kind of liked Michigan State over Indiana."

Dennis has also camped at Ohio State, Cincinnati, Purdue, and Illinois.

While all of that deals with schools in Big Ten country, Dennis said he is remaining open to everyone that is showing interest. That includes NC State. He said the last time he spoke to someone from NC State was one or two weeks ago, when coach Horton spoke to him over the phone.

"He was just saying that they play in an excellent conference and the team's always been close to the top 25," he said. "Then that they just have great academics and great schooling. I'll try to go there for a visit."

If he does, in fact, make it to a visit for NC State it will have to be soon. He wants to have his decision made before the start of his senior year.

Dennis holds offers from NC State, Maryland, Iowa State, Indiana in addition to several schools from the MAC conference.
