Henderson: NC State has pulled up

Massive Fort Myers, Florida offensive lineman Mario Henderson (Ht: 6-7 Wt: 331 40: 5.4) made his visit to NC State this weekend and came away impressed. TSW caught up with the big guy to talk about his trip.

Mario Henderson went to Raleigh to visit family but left with more than that. He left with a renewed interest in NC State. In an interview with TSW last week, he let it be known that the trip was mainly a chance to catch up with his cousin and NC State WR Richard Washington, while Clemson was the solid leader for the 3 star offensive lineman. Monday night finds the same offensive lineman reconsidering the Pack. "I still have Clemson as my leader, but NC State has pulled up on them."

What impressed Mario? The new facilities for one. "The visit went really good. The new facilities are something. They should be moving in next month. They will have an inside training facility with pulls and sleds. You will be able to drill right there. The weight room and the cafeteria are there too."

Henderson was able to spend some time with his cousin and he got his ear bent a time or two by the speedy Washington. "He told me that NC State was a team on the rise. He said that Clemson and FSU use to be the teams but the tide had turned. I heard alot from him about that."

While Washington was his host, he also got to spend time with Terrance Chapman, Wolfpack defensive end. "Terrance Chapman was kind of like my host too. He was cool. He told me that he had a year of football built up inside him and that I could either practice against him or play against him. It was my choice."

Henderson who is also an outstanding basketball player, enjoyed the NC State-UNC basketball game on his visit as well. "I loved the game and the RBC center."
