In spite of his focus, which has been primarily on helping his team finish off another excellent season, White has managed to do most of his homework with regard to the recruiting process.
He took his last official visit to NC State over the weekend and enjoyed his time in Raleigh. The Pack has been a serious contender for White for quite some time, and it doesn't seem as though that will change between now and his decision date.
"It went pretty good," White told Pack Pride in a recent interview. "It's a very nice atmosphere and it's a good rivalry between the two teams. I talked to the coaches a lot during the trip. I talked to coach (Mike) Archer and coach (Tom) O'Brien, and also the running backs coach Swepson.
"They've been recruiting me for a while and they're trying to turn the NC State program around. They're down to earth and very good people. It's a good college town with a pretty good campus and a lot of students."
White said his focus is exclusively on his school's playoff run between now and the state championship game. On the year he has rushed for more than 1,000 yards with 18 touchdowns.
His decision has come down to four schools -- NC State, Clemson, Wisconsin and Michigan State.
"They're all about even," he said. "I've been to all of them. I'm just looking for a place to get an education, graduate and get my degree. I want it to be a place like a home away from home with a family atmosphere and the opportunity to play."
