Will Tye's stock rose as dramatically as nearly anyone's over the course of his senior season, and with National Signing Day approaching he has narrowed his list to four schools.
Going into his senior season at the Salisbury School in Connecticut, the 6-4, 235-pound jumbo athlete was a bit of a secret, except to other high school coaches and players in his area, and a handful of colleges.
Tye now holds offers from NC State, Florida State, Temple, Wyoming and UConn, and he is focused on four schools.
"I'm still pretty interested in NC State and Florida State," Tye explained. "They're still high up there. I also like Iowa and LSU, still. It's pretty much those four."
The Hawkeyes and Tigers have not yet offered Tye, and he said it seems as though both schools appear to be waiting to see what other recruits do before they think about offering him.
"Iowa's pretty serious, I know that," he said. "I just talked to LSU probably a week and a half ago. They're just waiting to see what happens elsewhere."
Tye is taking an official visit to Florida State on January 15. He took an official to NC State for the Pack's season finale against North Carolina.
"It went pretty well," he said, echoing the comments he made to Pack Pride shortly after that trip. "It was the rivalry week for their game against North Carolina, so it was good to see them get that win. That was pretty fun."
Tye said he hopes to make his decision before National Signing Day. He said the biggest factors will be his relationship with coaches and the potential for early playing time.
