"Yes sir, I committed to NC State," he said. "I went up there this weekend for my visit and it was everything I wanted it to be. I just love the school and coach Willis just told me that he believes in me and that I can go far. I just loved everything about it so I went ahead and committed."
Norman contacted coach Reed with the news of his decision. He said the Wolfpack coaches have told him to work hard in the off season so he's ready to go next fall. With that in mind, Norman says he sees big things ahead for the NC State football program.
"I called coach Reed and he just said congratulations on my decision. They told me when I sign, they would give me a work out plan and they've just told me to work hard and try to get bigger and stronger.
"I could see us winning some bowl games and even a national championship." Norman totaled 78 tackles and eight sacks in 2008 and followed that up with 58 tackles, 18 tackles for a loss, 10 sacks, and three forced fumbles in 10 games as a senior in 2009.
"I thought I had a good year," he said. "I only played defensive end this year and felt like I made a lot of plays."
The 6-foot-1, 225-pounder is being recruited by NC State to play defensive end. Norman held offers from several small-school programs before the Wolfpack extended a scholarship offer.
Norman's brother, Warren Norman, is a standout tailback for Vanderbilt. In 2009, Warren was one of the top true freshmen tailbacks in the country. He set an SEC freshman record for all-purpose yards and was named SEC Freshman of the Year.
Artemus projects as a full qualifier and indicated that he is done with his official visits and solid to NC State.
