Xavier Lee looks at Pack

Xavier Lee was considered by some local football fans to be the best quarterback in the state of Florida as a Junior. Going into his senior season, the spotlight will be directly on him as he makes a return trip to the Nike Camp in Miami and guns for a shot at the Elite 11 Camp in California.

If Lee's numbers are any indication of what he can do on the field, he'll be a shoe in to be one of the top quarterbacks in the country this year. As a junior at Daytona Beach's Seabreeze High School, Lee threw for 3,075 yards and 35 touchdowns. He set a goal of 1,000 yards rushing as well, but found that he wasn't going to get the chance to run the ball enough to reach 1,000.

"Yeah, I wanted to get 1,000 yards rushing," said Lee, "but I realized that wasn't realistic. I wasn't going to be running the ball enough. I worked on my speed and my running a lot though."

Lee finished the season with 560 yards rushing and 11 touchdowns, and working on his 40 time his one of this primary physical goals this year. He is plenty fast to get yards when he needs to with a 4.7 forty.

When it comes to choosing a school, Lee is going have his pick for the most part, but two schools have jumped to the forefront early in the process.

"Florida State and NC State are the two schools that I am looking at the most right now. They're my top two. There are a bunch of schools after that."

When asked about several top schools in the south, Lee said he was also looking at Tennessee, LSU, and Georgia, but it was clear that FSU and NC State are firmly in the driver's seat right now.

When push comes to shove, FSU may be the team to beat. The Seminoles just signed Lee's brother, Anthony Kelly, from Seabreeze on February 5th.
