Notes: Looking for a tailback to complete the 2010 class, NC State got their man. Irmo (SC) star Mustafa Greene verbally committed to the Wolfpack after considering a host of scholarship offers.

"I actually committed to NC State on Wednesday," said Greene. "What was funny is coach Bridge was actually coming down to see me that day. I told him before he came that I've made a decision and was ready to let him know that I'd be playing for the Wolfpack.

"I feel it's a good choice for me and the coaches were real happy about my decision. I'm solid with NC State. The Rutgers coaches were coming down Friday, but I told them not to worry about it." With scholarship offers on the table from NC State, Rutgers, Georgia, Alabama, and Syracuse among others, Greene narrowed his list to NC State and Rutgers before reaching his final decision.

"It was a tough decision but when I listed my pros and cons NC State had more pros," said Greene. "There were a lot of things I liked about NC State. I like the playing time situation at my position, and I like the players on the team. I also like Raleigh and I think NC State will be a great place to go to college. Another thing is I like that they play on grass while Rutgers has turf."

Greene is rated the No. 45 running back in the nation by As a senior he rushed for nearly 1,400 yards and 21 touchdowns despite missing six games with an ankle injury.

Coach Quote: "I've been coaching running backs for 20 years and Mustafa is definitely the best that I've ever coached. He has great vision and excellent reaction time. He makes a cut and he's already moving downfield on the next cut. He has a lot of God-given talent and ability... things you can't coach.

"He is also a very physical runner. He runs really hard and when he is about to get tackled he gets his shoulders and pads low... you're going to feel it and pay the price when you tackle him." Irmo Running Backs Coach David Pitts
