Scout Rank: No.35 S

Hometown: Greensboro, NC
High School: Dudley High School
Accolades: Shrine Bowl selection; all-conference pick.
Stats: As a junior, Amerson tallied 60 tackles and nine interceptions while helping Dudley to a perfect 16-0 record and state championship.
Commit Date: November 8, 2009
Recruiting Scene: One of the most heavily recruited players in the state, Amerson held several high-major offers before cutting his list to five early in the process. NC State, Clemson, UNC, Virginia Tech, and Notre Dame made the cut, but Notre Dame and NC State would be the final two.
After visiting both programs, Amerson elected to remain in-state by committing to the Wolfpack in November.
"I got that feeling," said Amerson. "I enjoyed being around the players, and I loved the atmosphere. I had been leaning to them for a long time and it basically came down to State and Notre Dame.
"I just got that feeling and know that's where I want to go."
Why NC State?"On my official visit it just felt right at State. Being around the players, it seemed like a family. Everyone is close. They knew how to have fun. It just seemed right."
Picked NC State Over: Notre Dame, North Carolina, Virginia Tech, and Clemson
Scouting Report: Amerson plays at both wide receiver and defensive back. He has spent most of the time at corner and he looked better there than expected. Scout has him rated as a safety, but he could end up playing corner. He turns and runs with receivers well and he has good recovery speed. He struggles a bit with press coverage, but he played physical, he has very good ball skills, and if beaten off the line, he closed well. - Chad Simmons
