Stats: Playing in nine games this past year for Georgia Military College, Palmer rushed for 662 yards on 91 carries averaging 73.6 yards per contest and 7.27 yards per carry. He also scored 10 touchdowns. Palmer also had 10 catches for 103 yards and an additional score.

Commit Date: March 27, 2007

Recruiting Scene: Palmer was NC State's first commitment for the class of 2008. He pledged to the Wolfpack over interest from UNC and Florida State. After failing to qualify as a freshman, he spent the past two years at Georgia Military College where he has remained solid to the Pack throughout. He will have three years to play two once he arrives at NC State.

Coach Quote: "He can take it to the house everytime he touches the football. I think he could play running back in college, if he can put on about 20 pounds. We don't use him there much, but he's the best defensive back we have on our team.

"His speed is his best attribute. Tobias isn't a 4.4 guy... try 4.2. He [had] been timed between 4.2 and 4.3 at some combines [last] summer." -- Northwood Head Coach Bill Hall

Why NC State? "As far as looking at them play every weekend, they need help and hopefully whenever I get done at Georgia Military I can be a big part of helping them. The coaches there are what really impress me. They're straight up. They don't try to hide anything and they're real honest people."

Scouting Report: "Speed is the name of the game for Palmer, who could eventually play running back, slot receiver, and probably his best projected position of cornerback. Excellent burst into the secondary on plays to the outside, huge top-end speed, and overall solid acceleration through his cuts. In limited time as a cornerback, shows excellent hips and ball awareness. Willing to come up and make a tackle, but not enough time on the field to make a full evaluation." – Scout.com recruiting analyst Miller Safrit
