Position Breakdown (Note- the information here is solely the opinion of Pack Pride and should be considered for discussion purposes only)

Tyler Brosius

Strengths- Brosius has a very solid frame and great size which makes him college-ready from day one. He possesses a very strong arm and the ability to make all the throws necessary on the college level. Brosius is a hard worker and brings the intangibles needed to lead an offense.

Weaknesses- Exiting high school there’s not a lot you would expect Brosius to do that he doesn’t do already. He can improve on his accuracy to some degree but for the most part, will need to adjust to the size and speed of the college game.

Academics- Qualifier

Impact in 2010?- Barring a complete disaster, Brosius should redshirt in 2010.

Tony Creecy

Strengths- Creecy is a hard nosed player with above average athleticism and versatility. He has tremendous hands but his frame suggests running back. Creecy’s biggest asset may simply be his love for the game.

Weaknesses- An ankle injury slowed Creecy for the better part of three months and as a result needs to improve conditioning. He doesn’t have blazing speed but is quick in small areas.

Academics- Qualifier

Impact in 2010?- If he settles in at tailback as a freshman then it would be surprising if he doesn’t see action in some capacity in 2010.

Mustafa Greene

Strengths- Greene is a solid, downhill runner that is a handful to bring down once he has a head of steam. He has natural running back skills and quick cuts in the hole. Greene does a good job of leaning forward to squeeze out every yard on each run.

Weaknesses- Greene is not necessarily a homerun threat at running back although he has adequate speed for the position. He has had a tendency to pick up nagging injuries but has demonstrated the desire to play through those problems. Greene likely needs to add a little more size and muscle to take the pounding of an every down back.

Academics- Question mark

Impact in 2010?- It is likely that Greene, Creecy and Brandon Barnes could battle for the third running back spot in the rotation. Given the nicks and bruises running backs inevitably endure, odds are he could see some snaps as a freshman.

Logan Winkles

Strengths- Winkles is a tough, hard as nails player that will be a perfect fit at full back for NC State. He is a relentless, fearless blocker and looks to dominate the opposition. Winkles is surprisingly athletic and a solid pass catcher.

Weaknesses- Winkles will likely work on foot speed and quickness once at NC State but the biggest obstacle will be the learning curve from high school to college.
