Groups Develop New Egress Plan for Football

RALEIGH, N.C. - In meetings held over the winter, NC State officials, representatives of McLaurin Parking and members of the State Highway Patrol have developed a plan to make exiting Carter-Finley Stadium following Wolfpack football games a quicker and easier process.

The pending completion of Edwards Mill Road between Trinity Road and Chapel Hill Road will help implement some of the changes. "This will give us a great opportunity to dedicate more lanes to major arteries away from the venue," said Capt James Williams, SHP.

In the past, because of limited lanes heading south from the stadium, traffic officials often had to alternate traffic patterns from various Trinity Rd. gates. "It is less than ideal to double traffic back towards another gate as we have had to do in the past," Williams continued. "This change and collaborative plan will greatly enhance egress from the stadium complex."

"We truly appreciate the leadership from the State Highway Patrol and their insight into developing this plan," said Lee Fowler.

Fans are encouraged to visit the Highway Patrol Stadium Egress plan online, available here.

"Depending on the lot in which you park or the Gate from which you exit, we recommend you review this plan online prior to coming to the stadium. This will allow you to plan your route home more effectively should you be routed differently than last season, " said Ed Stack, Associate Excecutive Director of the Wolfpack Club.
