Brown Enjoys Visit to NC State

After visiting NC State for junior day in February, February (NC) Jack Britt defensive lineman Devonte Brown made a return trip to Raleigh recently and talks with Pack Pride about the visit.

Fayetteville (NC) Jack Britt versatile lineman Devonte Brown is one of the state's top prospects and he was recently at NC State. The rising senior came on during his junior season to help lead his squad to the state championship game. Along the way he collected 41 tackles, three tackles for loss and a pass breakup.

Pack Pride caught up with the 6-4, 260-pound defensive tackle/offensive lineman early this week to get his thoughts on the recruiting process.

"I just visited NC State this past weekend," Brown told Pack Pride. "I was up there for a spring (practice). It was good. I had a chance to sit down with the defensive coach (Mike Archer) and see how he talks to his players.

"It was an enjoyable experience. I like how he pushes his players. I've been there before. I like being pushed so I liked how he does things."

Brown also took a trip to Clemson recently and said he was impressed with what the Tigers have to offer.

"They both offer pretty much the same experience," Brown said of Clemson and NC State. "They're both good programs and they both love to win. I like how they treat their players. They both push you."

Both schools have offered, as have North Carolina, Duke, Maryland, Virginia Tech and West Virginia.

"I'm still waiting until everybody comes in that's going to come in. I'm not going to commit yet. I'm not committing to anybody right now. I'm just sitting back and enjoying the ride. I want to take it all in.

Brown said he is not sure what other schools he will be visiting. He will talk to his coach, as he has a lot of pull in that area. He said he does not have any favorites at this point.
