Name: C.J. Leslie
Hometown: Raleigh, North Carolina
High School: Word of God Christian Academy
Position: Combo Forward
Notes: NC State picked up a huge commitment today when Raleigh (NC) Word of God standout forward C.J. Leslie verbally committed to head coach Sidney Lowe.
"I just committed back to NC State," said Leslie. "I committed to coach Lowe today on campus, and he and the other coaches were all real happy.
"I wanted to see what else was out there and that's something I did. At the end I felt like it was the right situation for me to be in."
Leslie chose NC State over offers from Kentucky and UCONN among others. He is rated a five-star prospect and the No. 3 power forward in the country by Scout.com.
A 6-foot-8, 210-pound combo forward, Leslie is the highest-rated prospect to ever commit to NC State under head coach Sidney Lowe.
What was the biggest factor in his decision?
"The biggest factor was NC State is a school that has a chance to be great," said Leslie. "If all of us come in and play with the other guys and we all do our jobs, we have a chance to be great. We can go far. I think we can win a lot of games."
Leslie indicated that he will formally officially sign his letter of intent in the next few days at a signing ceremony.
In these exclusive video highlights you can see Leslie's talents on display. Dating back to the spring following his freshman season, the clips include footage from the AAU circuit, Leslie's high school season, and even a team camp with Holly Springs High School.
