Pack Seeded Seventh in ACC Tournament

NC State has earned the No. 7 seed in the 2010 ACC Tournament after sweeping a three-game series with Duke to end the regular season.

The Wolfpack completed the sweep with an 8-4 victory over the Blue Devils Saturday at Doak Field at Dail Park. NC State improved to 36-20 overall and 15-15 in the ACC with the win.

State will be the No. 7 seed in the ACC Tournament at NewBridge Bank Park in Greensboro, North Carolina from May 26-30. The other seeds are No. 1 Virginia, No. 2 Clemson, No. 3 Georgia Tech, No. 4 Miami (FL), No. 5 Forida State, No. 6 Virginia Tech, and No. 8 Boston College.

The Wolfpack will be in Bracket B with No. 2 seed Clemson, No. 3 seed Georgia Tech, and No. 6 seed Virginia Tech, meaning NC State will play each of those three teams during a four-day stretch between Wednesday and Saturday.

NC State was swept earlier in the year by Clemson, but won two of three games against the Yellow Jackets. The Wolfpack did not face Virginia Tech in the regular season.

Eight regulars for State are hitting over .300 this season with Kyle Wilson (.379) leading the way. Drew Poulk is one of the league's hottest hitters, as he's batting .367 with a team-high 13 home runs and 67 RBIs.

NC State's pitching has been led by the starting 1-2 punch of Jake Buchanan (7-4, 3.73 ERA) and Cory Mazzoni (7-3, 4.66 ERA).

Game dates and times for the ACC Tournament will be announced by the ACC Office on Sunday.
