Raleigh (NC) Athens Drive standout safety Pete Singer will not enroll this fall at NC State as he is not listed in the 2010 NC State Media Guide.

NC State Media Relations Director Annabelle Myers confirmed today that Singer is not on the 2010 football team at the ACC Kickoff.

Singer signed with NC State in February after a strong senior season for Athens Drive. He totaled 132 tackles, three interceptions, 13 pass breakups, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and a blocked kick in 2009. For his efforts Singer was named All-Area and All-Conference.

He was one of NC State's first commitments in the 2009 class as he picked the Wolfpack on the same day as close friend Robert Crisp. Singer was receiving interest from Tennessee, Georgia, and South Carolina when he committed to NC State.

"I've always liked State," Singer stated when he committed. "A lot of my family has attended NC State, and I've been there a few times for visits. I know their coaches well, and I really like the School of Design. I've been looking into it, and I like that program... it's strong. I'm looking to major in Architecture and they offer a strong program for that."

However, Singer has had off-the-field issues that forced he and his family to reconsider his decision to attend college at this time.

His future plans are unknown at this point.
