NC State's Schaeffer Released From Hospital

RALEIGH, N.C. — NC State catcher Chris Schaeffer, injured in a home-plate collision in the eighth inning of the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament championship game, was released from Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro earlier this evening and returned to Raleigh with a member of the NC State training staff.

Schaeffer was knocked unconscious in a collision with Florida State's James Ramsey in the bottom of the eighth inning. Schaeffer was taken to Moses Cone and treated there. He was diagnosed with a concussion, but further tests proved negative.
