"I visited North Carolina and North Carolina State this weekend," Malleck stated. "They called me the week before and I got back in contact with them and they asked me to stop by while I was in the area. The tight ends coach showed me around and the facilities and campus were really nice.
"I felt really comfortable around Coach Mo (Allen Mogridge) because he has a great personality and we just clicked pretty quickly. He's very excited about coaching and that rubs off on you and he's an enthusiastic guy. They said they really like my highlights, but they want to see a full game film and they'll go from there, so I'm getting that in the mail."
Malleck does have a written offer from North Carolina State and he visited the Wolfpack as well.
"I hadn't really heard anything about them before visiting there, but the stadium was amazing and everything I saw was beautiful," Malleck explained. "I met the head coach and the tight end coach, but I didn't spend much time with the tight ends coach. They said they were only taking one tight end and said that they liked my vertical speed and quickness, so I had a good chance of playing early for them.
"Coach Tom O'Brien told me that they have been doing well the years that he's been there, but he's planning on staying there for 10 years and the goal is a National Championship. He just said he really wants me to come there and that it's a great place to be."
Malleck will probably visit Central Florida, Army, Connecticut and Notre Dame this summer as well.
