After coming from Nigeria and only playing basketball for three years, Uchebo needs all the experience he can get as he prepares for the rigors of the ACC.
So far the 6-11 big man has averaged 9.4 points per game after five games and has been happy with the camp.
"I think the camp is pretty good for me to be here and learn different things," Uchebo said. "I can see a lot of different basketball players and see where I am at."
Uchebo, who was measured at the camp with a seven-foot wingspan and 8'11 standing reach has also gotten coaching from former NBA players and some of the nation's best coaches.
"(They taught me) how to set a good screen and roll and how to box out," Uchebo said. "(They) also told me not to put the ball on the floor and to find the guard and pass the ball to them."
Uchebo recently transferred from Oak Ridge Academy to Word of God, while also reclassifying from the class of 2012 to the class of 2011.
"I think that it will work at Word of God," Uchebo said. "The reason why I transferred is if I stayed at Oak Ridge I would be in 11th grade. But I want to be in the 12th grade to be in position. That is where I am supposed to be (in school)."
