REPORT: Wilson Signs With Rockies

According to a published report, the Colorado Rockies have signed Russell Wilson, their fourth-round pick in the 2010 MLB Draft.

"The Colorado Rockies signed fourth-round draft pick Russell Wilson, a 5-foot-11 center fielder out of North Carolina State, and will assign him to Tri-City to begin his professional baseball career. Wilson hit .306 in 47 games for the Wolfpack in 2010, scoring 25 runs and stealing nine bases.

"Wilson is also the starting quarterback for the NC State football team and has indicated he still intends to play for them in the fall. He can retain his college football eligibility while still receiving money and benefits in pro baseball."
