Sources close to the situation confirmed this morning that Carter has enrolled at NC State and is a member of the football team.

Carter, a 6-foot, 220-pounder, started eight games at outside linebacker for Syracuse as a true freshman in 2009. In 10 games, he totaled 24 tackles and two sacks, and was named to the All-Big East Freshman Team by ESPN.com and The Sporting News.

The Orlando, Florida native must sit out the 2010 season but will have three years left to play three seasons beginning in 2011. Carter is expected to participate in NC State's first fall practice this afternoon.

Pack Pride will have more on Carter in the near future so stay tuned!
